Railroad Solutions System 1 vs. Poly-urea
Reported herein are the results made in our laboratory on the material described above, all tests were performed in accordance with the procedures outlined in test data below, at a ratio of 100% of component A, and 100% of component B, with an ambient temperature of 73°F, and 55% H for Railroad Solutions System 1, and at ratio of 1:1, and for the poly-urea product it is 2:1.

Scope
To determine the amount of material that is required to fill a 4’’ in length and 1 ½” in width drilled spike hole.

Method
An 8-foot railroad tie was prepared for foam placement by drilling eight (8) three-quarter-inch square holes to a depth of 4 inches. After drilling the tie holes, they were cleaned out by the rolling tie over and removing all latency within the hole.

Test Procedure
At the beginning of the test each product is placed in a vessel and weighed to 200 grams and 100 grams. After the material has been mixed and weighed it is then dispersed into the prepared hole. The product in each of the systems was placed in the hole until the hole was filled and the material was flush with the wood substrate careful not to over fill. After the material was placed the products were weighed again to determine how much product was used per hole.

Volumetric Readings of Poly-urea vs. System 1

Product Usage Comparison

* Total mean usage for Poly-urea is 149.62 grams per hole.
* Total mean usage for System 1 is 44.12 grams per hole.

Holes Filled Comparison
* Total tie holes filled per gallon of Poly-urea is approximately 311.
* Total tie holes filled per gallon of Railroad Solutions System 1 is approximately 700.

CONCLUSION
The usage rate of material to fill and repair a standard tie hole with the Railroad Solutions System 1 Polyurethane Foam is 12 grams per hole. The usage rate of material to fill and repair a standard tie hole with Poly-urea is 35 grams per hole. The amount of Railroad Solutions System 1 material that is required to fill and repair a standard tie hole is 200% less than that of Poly-urea. Because of Railroad Solutions System 1 ability to foam and rise in a constricted area, less material is needed to perform the repair.
