Plate Pick

Changing ties just got easier. Plate pick has been developed with tie change gangs in mind. Plate pick can be applied to a plate and rail (adhering plate to rail) minutes before tie replacement. When the track is lifted to insert a new tie, the plate will lift with the rail, so the old tie can be removed and the new tie can be moved into place.

  • Specially formulated two-component polyurethane.
  • Insensitive to moisture and can be applied in extreme heat or cold.
  • Once applied and a new tie is in place and secure, the bond will be broken naturally when a train passes over.
  • Applied with hand applicators or machines.

Plate Pick Specifications

Basic Use
Railroad Solutions Plate Pick is time tested two- component polyurethane designed with excellent memory, and moisture insensitive properties. The densities of Plate Pick will allow for better performance and versatility in harsh climate conditions. Plate Pick is used for temporarily adhereing the tie plate to the rail for tie change and replacement.

Plate Pick can be used in extreme heat, and extreme cold conditions.

Composition and Material
Plate Pick polyurethane is a two-component, 1:1 ratio.
Plate Pick will not shrink after curing and provide dense wood like compound.

Sizes
Plate Pick is packaged in 600ML hand cartridges, the label includes complete application instructions.

Applicable Standards
Plate Pick reference testing (TD-96-010) and AAR/UI study and the TTCI-FAST-HAL STUDY.

Limitations

Technical Data

PLATE PICK IS A TWO-COMPONENT POLYURETHANE THAT MUST BE MIXED CAREFULLY AND THOROUGHLY. IMPROPER OR CARELESS MIXING WILL REDUCE PRODUCT PERFORMANCE SIGNIFICANTLY.

Each component should be examined for settling of contents and stirred separately. Be careful not to inadvertently mix the two components. The components are premeasured to the correct ratio and are designed to react completely. Never deviate from the specified mixing ratio.
